Most people told her to stick to what was familiar.

She chose to create something revolutionary instead.

As a licensed esthetician, Ash began her journey in school with traditional waxing — but quickly realized it didn’t work for everyone. Not for her clients, and definitely not for herself. After struggling with flare-ups caused by waxing due to her own skin condition (HS – hidradenitis suppurativa), she knew there had to be a better way to help women like her feel confident and comfortable in their skin. That search led her to sugaring — a gentle, organic hair removal method made from just sugar, water, and lemon.

At the time, sugaring was practically unheard of. Training was rare, products were hard to find, and no one was talking about it.

​So she took matters into her own hands.

​

She researched. She experimented. She created her own sugar paste at home and tested it on herself. She studied the results. And when she saw how much better it was for sensitive skin and women with chronic skin conditions, she knew she had to share it.

​

But when she tried to partner with esthetics schools to teach the method, instructors told her to stick with waxing — “That’s what we promote. It’s easier. That’s what sells.”

Her response? Absolutely not.

​

She knew too many women were suffering silently. Too many estheticians wanted better training but didn’t know where to start. Too many gaps existed in the beauty industry when it came to inclusive, skin-conscious services. So, she became the educator and mentor she wished she had — because everyone deserves options.

Every woman deserves care, and every esthetician deserves access to the knowledge that can change their business — and their life.
